Born on September 2, 1983 in San Germán, Holguín.

In 1991, she entered the Vocational School of Art “Raúl Gómez García”, in Holguín, in the specialty of Piano. In 1994  she changed to the specialty of Theoretical Subjects. In 1997 she passed her Level Exam at the “José María Ochoa” Music Conservatory in Holguín. In 2002 she graduated from Theory of Music, with an investigation about the History of the Orchestral Conducting in Cuba and conducted “Music for string orchestra”, by Carlos Fariñas.

In 2003 she entered the Higher Institute of Art (ISA, Instituto Superior de Arte) in the specialty of Orchestral Conducting, under the mentorship of Maestro Jorge López Marín. This year for the first time she conducted a symphony orchestra, the Holguín Symphony Orchestra. She worked as an assistant student of the chair of Orchestral Conducting of the Cuban Arts High School conducting the Chamber Orchestra of the Institute on a regular basis and teaching Orchestral Conducting classes to the students of 5th year of Composition.

During her student years at ISA she made numerous concerts of chamber music, where she premiered works both by young composers and composers already recognized as Masters Jorge López Marín and Roberto Valera. She has also been a guest conductor on several occasions of the Holguín Symphony Orchestra, Matanzas Symphony Orchestra, Camagüey Symphony Orchestra, Villa Clara Symphony Orchestra and the Oriente Symphony Orchestra (Santiago de Cuba).

In 2007 she made the world premiere of the first Cuban children’s zarzuela “Cerca del Río”, by composer Ivette Herryman, at the Gran Teatro de La Habana. She then recorded this work on a DVD that was awarded the Special Prize in the Cubadisco 2010 edition.

During the 2007-2008 academic year, she was the Musical Director of the Chamber Orchestra of the National School of Art (ENA) in Havana. There she performed several concerts and collaborations with other orchestras of chamber of the country.

In April 2009, she graduated from Bachelor, with a concert with the East Symphony Orchestra. In September of the same year she began her social service as Music Director of the Oriente Symphony Orchestra and as Professor of Orchestral Direction at the ISA.

In 2010 she conducted the Closing concert of the Spring Festival in Guantánamo and the Closing concert of the classical music event Concierto Santiago, both with the presentation of Edgar Grieg’s Holberg Suite and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Chamber Symphony, along with Musicians of the East Symphony Orchestra.

Since 2006 she has been a member of UNEAC (Union Nacional de Escritores y Artistas de Cuba) and until 2009 she was a teacher of Orchestral Conducting at the Higher Institute of Arts (ISA).

In 2009, within the framework of the VII Ancient Music Festival “Esteban Salas”, she conducted Domenico Scarlatti’s intermezzo “La Dirindina” in a performance of Ars Longa, an old music ensemble, ” in what was a premiere in Cuba.

In 2010 she recorded a CD with the Symphony Orchestra of Oriente entitled “Popularly Symphonic”, as part of an anthology of 4 CDs that collected themes of traditional popular music in symphonic version.

In March 2011, the “Oriente Sinfónico” project was implemented, which consisted of the union of the Oriente Symphony Orchestra and the Holguín Symphony Orchestra, the only two symphony orchestras in the east of the country, to interpret Symphony No. V by Dmitri Shostakovich.

She has regularly received master classes from teachers Felipe Aguirre (Colombia), Francesco Belli (Italy), Bernard Rubenstein (USA) and Walter Themel (Italy).

Since 2009 she is the General Director of the Oriente Symphony Orchestra, in Santiago de Cuba.

Since the end of 2013 she has been studying a Master’s Degree in Orchestral Conducting at the Music University of Mannheim, under the tutelage of Maestro Klaus Arp, who died in January 2016. She has  also studied Choral Conducting with Master Frieder Bernius.

She has conducted the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mannheim University Symphony Orchestra, the Konstanz Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra, the Heilbronn Chamber Orchestra and the Mannheim Chamber Orchestra “Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester” in Germany as well as the Plovdiv Philharmonic (Bulgaria) and the University of Southern Illinois University Orchestra in Edwardsville (USA).

Since 2014 she has organized various exchanges between young musicians and teachers from Europe and the Oriente Symphony Orchestra in Santiago de Cuba. She directs the Kurpfälzisches Kammerorchester in Mannheim from 3 to 4 times a year, and she is currently preparing several projects, including Das Große Feuer, the music for a play by the famous German playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig, which will be released on January 22nd  2016.
